FAQs

How long is the lead time?

At Bayther, we keep our standard (non-custom) saunas and ice baths in stock, though demand means they often sell out quickly. To guarantee availability, you can secure your product through our pre-order system.

Every order is managed with care and precision, from production and packaging to international shipping and final delivery to your door. Custom orders take 10–14 weeks, a timeline that allows us to deliver consistently high quality while keeping prices competitive and reducing waste.

You’ll receive clear updates at every stage — from the moment your sauna or ice bath enters production to the day it arrives at your home. With regular shipments arriving, customer orders are always prioritised first. While we do bring in a limited number of extra units with each shipment, these are usually spoken for quickly. Placing your order early is the best way to ensure your sauna or ice bath is ready when you need it.

How are items delivered?

Our products are carefully packed and shipped by experienced freight partners who understand how to handle large, heavy items like saunas and ice baths. We work hard to make sure your delivery is safe, smooth, and stress-free.

How do I assemble my Sauna?

We offer flexible setup solutions to suit your needs — whether you're a hands-on DIYer or prefer to bring in a professional.

Barrel Saunas

For the best results, we recommend using a builder or installer.

However, if you’re a confident DIYer — you’ll likely be able to tackle the assembly yourself.

We provide a step-by-step instructions and can provide installation videos to guide you through the process.

Infrared Saunas

Our infrared saunas are designed for easy home assembly. With two able-bodied people, setup is typically straightforward and can be completed in just a few hours.

Ice Baths & Chillers

Our ice baths and chillers are plug-and-play for maximum convenience.

Simply fill the bath, plug in the chiller to a standard wall socket, connect the hoses and you’re ready to go.

Note: At this stage, installation services are only available within Auckland. You will need to find your own installer if you are outside of Auckland. We're working to expand this offering in the future.

What type of wood do Bayther saunas use?

Barrel Saunas:
Our barrel saunas are constructed from continuous pieces of thermally treated traditional Finnish spruce. This timber is known for its strength, durability, and resistance to decay.
We never use glues or splicing techniques—this means no added toxins, and it reduces the risk of structural issues over time.

Thermally treated spruce also offers 25–30% better insulation than cedar, helping your sauna retain heat more efficiently, which translates to faster heat-up times and lower energy use.

Infrared Saunas:
Our infrared saunas are made from 100% Canadian Hemlock, a premium hardwood known for:

- Its clean, modern aesthetic

- Strength and long-term durability

- Low resin and allergen content, making it ideal for high-heat environments

- A neutral scent, perfect for those sensitive to strong wood aromas like cedar

Canadian Hemlock is widely regarded as one of the best choices for infrared saunas, combining beauty with performance and comfort.

What is the difference between your ice bath from others on the market?

What sets Bayther ice baths apart is performance. Unlike wooden tubs or other materials on the market, Bayther ice baths are made from 5mm thick medical-grade acrylic — a highly durable, non-porous material that’s incredibly easy to clean and maintain. Each bath is filled with high-density insulation foam, and paired with a hard foam-insulated cover. This combination locks in the cold (or heat), meaning your unit holds temperature exceptionally well and doesn’t rely so heavily on the chiller.
